# Currency conversion

You submit a transaction in a requested currency. If the processing provider does not support that currency **and** conversion is enabled, Omno converts the amount automatically and sets the final transaction currency accordingly.

## Requested vs processed

| Field | Meaning |
|  --- | --- |
| `initialAmount` / `initialCurrency` | The amount and currency you **requested**. |
| `amount` / `currency` | The amount and currency actually **processed**, after any conversion. |


Both appear on the pay-in and payout transaction. When no conversion occurs, the requested and processed values match.

> ℹ️ **Note:** Use `initialAmount` / `initialCurrency` for what the customer or merchant requested, and `amount` / `currency` for what was settled with the provider.
