# Direct Link

**Direct Link** is for backend-driven payments with **no Omno UI** — invoices, quick payment triggers, or your own checkout. Your backend creates and starts the transaction; Omno returns a redirect URL (APM) or a wallet address (crypto); the final outcome arrives by webhook.

## What it does

- Supports **APM** and **crypto** pay-in, and **APM** payout. Card is not available through Direct Link — use the [Cashier](/guides/concepts/cashier) for cards.
- Processes against a **Direct Link Route** you reference with `directRouteId` (the Direct Link counterpart of a [Router](/guides/concepts/routing)).
- Returns a provider redirect URL or a generated crypto wallet address; Omno hosts no payment screen.

## How it works

1. Your backend creates the transaction with a `directRouteId`.
2. Your backend starts processing, sending browser and method-specific data.
3. Omno returns a redirect URL (APM) or a wallet address (crypto).
4. The customer completes payment at the provider or by sending funds.
5. A [webhook](/guides/concepts/webhooks) delivers the authoritative final status; verify with a GET on the transaction.

> ⚠️ **Warning:** The final result comes from a [webhook](/guides/concepts/webhooks) or a GET on the transaction, never from a redirect.

## When to use it

- You don't want Omno's UI and want to connect specific providers from your backend.
- You need APM or crypto, not cards.
