# Currency Conversion

You send a transaction in a requested currency. If the processing PSP does not support that currency **and** conversion is enabled, OMNO converts the amount automatically and sets the final transaction currency accordingly.

## Requested vs processed

| Field | Meaning |
|  --- | --- |
| `initialAmount` / `initialCurrency` | The amount and currency you **requested**. |
| `amount` / `currency` | The amount and currency actually **processed** (after any conversion). |


Both appear on [`PayInTransaction` and `PayoutTransaction`](https://docs.omno.com/apis). When no conversion occurs, the initial and processed values match.

> ℹ️ **Note:** Use `initialAmount` / `initialCurrency` for what the customer/merchant requested, and `amount` / `currency` for what was settled with the PSP.
